The "Harley Cat"...

For the guys who like to ride “Harley” even in the deepest drifts.

 Half/Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, Half/Arctic-Cat Snowmobile…

The “Harley-Cat’s” Owner/Builder is Denny Schatz from St. Marys, Pennsylvania.  This creation started in October 2004’ and came to life January 2005’ with all the bells and whistles.  Denny began his customizing with a 1995’ Harley-Davidson Ultra-Classic Motorcycle, and combined it with a 1998’ Arctic-Cat Pantera 2-up Snowmobile.  In his garage, Denny took the Ultra-Classic with its 1450cc power plant (which unfortunately was totaled in a local accident) and rested it upon the Pantera’s chassis.  This one-of-a-kind “Harley-Cat” uses the complete tunnel and undercarriage of the snowmobile and nearly the entire top end of the bike.  Denny retained the 5-speed manual transmission of the bike and re-engineered the drive train to mesh with the typical centrifugal clutch design of a snowmobile.  The power train, clutch, twist throttle, starter, electrical system, is all Harley; while the trackdrive, skis, track, and suspension is all Cat.  After adding reverse converted from a Volkswagen flywheel and starter, a widened ski-stance, modified suspension, custom aluminum diamond plate, and many other modifications, Denny sent the fiberglass to local painter Allen Kenniston of C-4 Graphics for the custom Harley-Cat glow-in-the-dark checkered paint scheme and topped it off with artwork supplied by Garbic Graphics.  Check below for more pictures.
